I’m setting a new personal record this week.
(When you think about it, you can set personal records for just about anything, and it makes you feel really accomplished…hehe!)
I’m attending two conferences in one week. I don’t think I’ve ever done that before! This weekend will be my sixth conference this year. Definitely a new PR.
Recap:
Earlier this week I was in Toledo, Ohio at “Standing Together for the Gospel,” a joint meeting of the Michigan Association of Regular Baptist Churches and the Ohio Association of Regular Baptist Churches. Ministry leaders from neighboring states came together for encouragement and fellowship (and some friendly rivalries). That’s where I heard Dannah Gresh, met her, and interviewed her. I can’t share the interview just yet, but here’s a short article I wrote about the event: http://baptistbulletin.org/?p=32317.
Ahead:
THIS WEEKEND I’m going to “Defending Our Faith” Apologetics Conference at Hunters Creek Community Church in Lapeer, Michigan. The event is being sponsored by three area churches: Hunters Creek, Calvary Bible Church, and First Baptist Church of Lapeer. Radio personality Bob Dutko (of WMUZ) and former muslim Abdu Murray will be speaking throughout the weekend. It starts TONIGHT at 6:30 and runs through tomorrow afternoon. And the best part is…it’s FREE!
Apologetics
What it IS
A definition:: “reasoned arguments or writings in justification of something, typically a theory or religious doctrine.”
What it’s NOT
1) Being sorry or apologizing for your faith
2) Arguing maliciously about what you believe
Come learn to defend your faith so you can be a witness in your sphere of influence!
Dannah Gresh! Dannah Gresh! I know her!!! The first article was so good, I can’t wait to read the interview. Oh Emily, how can you leave your readers hanging like that? Seriously, nice work. Who’s your next get? Beth Moore?
