Here’s a quick post about a really cool thing happening tonight:
Answers in Genesis is hosting a debate tonight at the Creation Museum between Ken Ham and Bill Nye.
Ken Ham is the president of Answers in Genesis and the Creation Museum. He is a Creationist; that is, he believes the earth was created in six literal days about 6,000 years ago—the be the biblical account of creation, found in Genesis 1 and 2.
Bill Nye “The Science Guy” is an evolutionist, who starred in a kids television show in the 90s (yes, I watched it) that helped kids learn science. He was kind of nerdy, but fun, and the show was engaging to watch because he did experiments all the time. It was a great way to engage kids with science. The funny part is, Mr. Nye’s “Science Guy” persona started out as a comedy sketch for a local comedy show in Seattle, Washington. The name stuck and he’s been considered a strong voice on the topic for many years.
Anyways, the debate is happening TONIGHT. You can watch it live at debatelive.org.
